This guide is a step-by-step method for creating a custom modpack with the Twitch Launcher and getting it running on your StickyPiston server.

Twitch Modpacks are built to work with Twitch (obviously you can use them through MultiMC too). If you want the mods just get the mods listed/download and install the pack through Twitch/MultiMC and use another launcher like the Vanilla one or MultiMC with a custom instance.

How to Create a Custom Profile in the Twitch Launcher

These steps will get you set up with a profile that you can use to experiment with your modpack.

  1. Open the Twitch Launcher, If you have not installed the launcher follow this guide .
  2. Click on Mods in the Navigation Bar.
  3. Click on Minecraft .
  4. Click on Create Custom Profile .
  5. Choose a name for your Profile (This can be changed later on).
  6. Choose a Minecraft version. This is important as the mods you will want to be playing with will need to work with the version you select. So spend some time to make sure you pick the right version for what mods you want.
  7. Choose a ModLoader Version (This will always be Forge but you will have to pick which version you need. We recommend the newest version whenever possible).
  8. Click Create , this will create the new custom profile

How to Add Mods to the Custom Profile in the Twitch Launcher

These steps will take you through the process of adding mods to your modpack

Morrowind: Spell Effects. Summon creature for D seconds. Summons a creature to fight for the caster for a limited period of time. Summoned creatures will disappear when the spell expires, when they are killed, or when the character who cast the spell is killed. 22 Summon Frost Atronach; 23 Summon Golden Saint; 24 Summon Greater Bonewalker; 25 Summon Hunger; 26 Summon Scamp; 27 Summon Skeletal Minion; 28 Summon Storm Atronach; 29 Summon Winged Twilight; 30 Turn Undead. Morrowind summon golden saint spell Summon Golden Saint is a Conjuration spell in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind that summons a Golden Saint to fight at the casters side for 60 seconds.

  1. Click on the image of your newly created custom profile.
  2. If you do not already have any mods installed you will see a small Get More Content button at the top right of the window.
  3. This screen will show all available Mods for the version of Minecraft you selected for the profile.
  4. To see information about a mod, simply click anywhere in the highlighted box when mousing over the mod in the list. You can also search through the mods by using the search box and sort the list to be able to find what you are looking for the fastest.
  5. Click on the Install button to add the mod to your pack.
  6. Repeat this process until you have all the mods you would like added to your pack.

Testing Your Modpack

Before you send your modpack to us, you’ll want to test it’s working on your computer.

  1. In the screen with your new profile’s image, click on the purple Play button to get the Minecraft launcher started.
  2. When the Minecraft launcher opens, click on the green Play button.
  3. Shortly you should see a loading screen to see the mod loading process.
  4. Create a singleplayer world to test the mods.
  5. If you have installed any world generation mods, make sure to change the world type when you create it.

Creating a Custom Modpack Server

To create a server you will need to export the custom profile and send this to us, we will use this file to create your server for you.

  1. Click on the Profile image to open the screen that lists all the mods in your pack.
  2. Click on the gear icon to the right of the Get More Content button.
  3. Click on Export Profile .
  4. Name your profile to match the name you have in your Twitch Launcher.
  5. The package version does not necessarily matter but it can be used to track updated versions if you continue to make changes to the pack.
  6. Select the Files and Folders that are needed. (by default they are already selected but config and mods are the required folders).
  7. Click on the purple Okay button.

How to Send Us Your Modpack Files

To send us your modpack, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to transfer.stickypiston.co .
  2. Upload the archive file which was exported in the previous section .
  3. Copy the link that appears once the file has been uploaded and open a support ticket then we will setup your server from there.

What Happens When We Have Your Modpack Files

Once the custom modpack has been received by StickyPiston we will:

  1. Install the correct version of Forge on your server.
  2. Disable any client side mods that won’t work on a server.
  3. Test that the server starts correctly and all the mods are loaded.
  4. Debug and fix any errors that appear.
  5. Reply to your support ticket to let you know that the modpack is installed and running on your server.

ServerMiner makes it super easy to create a server with your own custom modpack.

  1. The first step is to download and install the Twitch launcher onto your computer: https://app.twitch.tv/download
  2. Once downloaded and installed, then open the program and click the Mods tab.
  1. Click the Minecraft tile button.
  1. Click the Create Custom Profile tab.
  1. Next step is to name your modpack and select the Minecraft version you'd like your modpack to use. You can then click the Okay button.
  1. Congrats! You just created a very basic modpack. The next step is to add mods to your pack. Firstly, click on your custom pack.
  1. Then click the Get Mods button.
  1. This is the fun part where you can install all the mods you'd like in your pack. You can always add or remove mods in the future. To install a mod, just click the Install button.
  1. Once you've chosen all your mods then click the Back button which is towards to top left hand corner of the Twitch launcher.
  2. Then click the three .. towards the top right of the Twitch launcher and then click the Export Profile button from the drop down list.
  1. You can leave all the settings as they are and click the Okay button.
  1. Now you need to save your modpack. It doesn't matter where you save the exported modpack but just take a note of where you do save it.
  1. Open the ServerMiner control panel and navigate to Installer and click Build Your Own Modpack. Then click the Upload Exported ZIP File button and navigate to the file which you just saved. Then click the Open button to upload the modpack onto ServerMiner.
  1. The last step is to click the Install modpack button shown in the animation above. This will install the modpack onto your server.
