I've got a WesternField 410 single bolt, model # M150C. received it in the early 60's.
It's only been fired 15 - 20 times. Can't find the serial #. How do i determine the value?

Your Western Field Model 150 is a 'Store Brand Name' shotgun. A 'Store Brand Name' shotgun is one that was made by a major maker (and after 1946) for and was sold by a wholesale sporting goods dealer, a retail chain store or an independent retailer. Guns with the name Western Field were sold by Montgomery Ward a large retail chain store based in Chicago,IL. Your Model 150 was made by G.F. Mossberg & Son Inc and is the same as a Mossberg Model 183K. As far as I know there are no serial number- year made tables for Mossberg but the Model 183 series was made between 1948 and 1985. The value of any used shotgun depends on its condition, the amount of original finish remaining on the metal and wood as well as the mechanical condition. A 'Store Brand Name' shotgun is valued at about 1t5 percent less that the same identical gun with the original makers name on it. Values given for the Mossberg Model 183 series guns are:
100%-$175, 98%-$150, 95%-$135, 90%-$110, 80%-$95, 70%-$85 and 60%-$75.
Remember 15 percent less.
